In order to complete the ACCA Qualification and qualify as an ACCA member, you will need to complete:
1. 13 exams (exemptions are awarded based on qualifications held)
2. 3 years practical work experience

ACCA EXAMS
Applied Knowledge:
The Applied Knowledge exams provides students with a broad introduction to the world of finance and develop your essential understanding and techniques in accounting. These exams are:
Applied Skills:
The Applied Skills exams build on existing knowledge and understanding and develop strong, broad and practical finance skills required of future strategic professional accountant in any sector or industry. These exams are:
- Corporate and Business Law (LW)
- Performance Management (PM)
- Taxation (TX)
- Financial reporting (FR)
- Audit and Assurance (AA)
- Financial Management (FM)
Strategic Professional:
The Strategic Professional exams prepare students for future leadership positions. Students must complete both Essentials exams and choose two from the Options. These exams are:

- Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
- Advanced Performance Management (APM)
- Advanced Taxation (ATX)
- Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
ACCA EXEMPTIONS
A maximum of nine Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the ACCA Qualification can be awarded. To preserve the integrity and rigour of the ACCA Qualification and to ensure that all students share a common experience, no exemptions are provided for Strategic Professional exams.

TIME FRAME
· Four exam sessions are run per year – March, June, September, December.
· Students can sit a maximum of four exams at each session, and a maximum of eight distinct exams each calendar year.
· You could therefore complete all of the exams in two years.
· However, as you also need three years practical experience before you can become an ACCA member and be considered a qualified accountant, the qualification takes a minimum of three years to complete.

The annual subscription fee is due by 1st January each year.
