The CFA- Chartered Financial Analyst is a professional course accredited by the US-based CFA Institute, it provides CFA certification and recognition to candidates after clearing the CFA examinations.
A candidate who has a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree or a working professional with at least 4 years of relevant work experience can enroll for the CFA course.
The CFA exams are conducted throughout the year at specified months for each exam level. - Level 1- February, May, August, and November - Level 2- May, August and November - Level 3- February and August
Initially, candidates have to pay a one-time registration fee of USD 350. There are two stages for registration in CFA exams early registration and standard registration. The early registration fees for exam levels 1, 2, and 3 are USD 940, USD 990, and USD 1,090, and for standard registrations for the three levels are USD 1250, USD 1290, and USD 1390 respective for 1,2 and 3rd level of the CFA examination.
The CFA Institute offers the CFA Charter to the candidate who has completed all the 3 levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst course and has obtained a practical work experience of at least 4000 hours.
The CFA program is a globally recognized and prominent qualification, as India is one of the 160+ CFA societies around the world so CFA candidates have scope in India too.
It can take between 2-4 years to complete all three levels of the CFA program and additionally, it requires 4000 hours of practical work experience to be certified as a Chartered Financial Analyst by the CFA Institute.
There are three scholarships currently provided for CFA Aspirants - Access scholarships for students who can’t afford the program fees - Student Scholarship for students attending an affiliated University - Professionals Scholarship for full-time university or college professors, administrators, and department heads.
It is advised to spend at least 300 hours on each paper with a proper study plan and clear study materials to get a good score in the CFA examinations.
For entry-level the salary ranges between 6L-10L, mid-level 10-15L, and senior-level is 25L+.

It takes three to four years to complete all three levels of the CFA Program. This takes into account the recommended study time of 300 hours per level. To become a member and use the CFA Charterholder designation, you also need at least 4,000 hours of relevant work experience, completed in a minimum of 36 months. Work experience can be obtained whilst you study.
No, you are not eligible to apply for a scholarship until you have received your exam result. If you apply for a scholarship prior to receiving your result, your application will be rejected.
